Paul Arthur Phillips (Cowboy) was born June 25, 1953 in Saint Maries, Idaho to Clarence and Fanny Phillips. He died at the age of 61 from accidental drowning while fishing on the Chehalis River on January 12, 2015.

Paul faithfully served his country while in the US Army from 1971 to 1977.

Paul was an avid outdoorsmen who loved camping, hunting and fishing. He loved to coordinate the annual hunting trip to Idaho for his brothers, sister, nephews and family friends. Paul had an interest in weaponry, firearms and American History. Paul loved to cook, bake and can for this family, especially for the holidays.

Paul had a fascination with family history and spent a good deal of time researching his families' ancestry resulting in some very interesting and previously unknown facts about the Phillips family.

Paul never met a stranger. To him everyone was a potential friend whom he was excited to know. He was the most generous person one could ever hope to meet. He was as generous with his time as he was with his resources. He would share whatever he had, no matter how little it was, with anyone who needed it and it was done with no expectation that it would ever be paid back. Paul spent countless hours as a volunteer for The Salvation Army. He enjoyed doing Emergency Disaster work as well as helping with the annual Christmas Kettle and Food Basket Program.

Paul was preceded in his death by his parents Clarence and Fanny Phillips and his sisters Gloria Phillips, Mary Rabe, Amy Mulhollam and Nancy Cannell. He is survived by his wife Donna Phillips, daughters Kimberly Brace and husband Jack Brace Jr., Marcella Skorstad and husband Brian Skorstad and Alissa Vetma and significant other Jim Kemper as well as sons Paul Phillips II and wife Monica Phillips and Nolan Phillips and wife Alita Cluff. Paul is also survived by brothers Dale Phillips and wife Mary Phillips, Walter Phillips, Bert Hall and wife Carol Hall, Bill Phillips and wife Fran Phillips, Jack Phillips and wife Anna Phillips and Michael Phillips plus 12 grandchildren 1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
